From the moment visitors approach the main doors of the museum, they are invited to enter the world of letters, words and story and to explore, discover and learn. Animal Alphabet (Full Image) This highly interactive gallery features an alphabet that becomes a zoo, with the shapes of the letters taking on the form of animals whose name begins with that letter. The letters are scattered in random order throughout the space and vary in scale from just over six feet to just about 3 feet. The letters offer an alliterative learning experience together with physical exploration of the upper and lower case letters: just right for tracing with a little finger! Sample letters include: E=The enormous elephant exhales, J=jellyfish just jiggle and S=snakes sizzle and slide.
